“A new taco joint Pancho and Jane with a “rebellious twist” opened last week in Golden. The new restaurant at 16500 S. Golden Rd. is near the city’s main street and 10 minutes from downtown. It serves classic Mexican dishes such as tacos, quesadillas and burritos with a twist.
The Carnitas taco on its menu includes braised pork, avocado aioli, “black magic sauce” and a ramen noodle slaw. One item – the Chorizo y Papas taco – includes Cheetos on top.
The name of the restaurant is inspired by Francisco “Pancho” Villa, a Mexican revolutionary, and Colorado’s stagecoach bandit Jane Kirkham, said the taco spot’s general manager Jonathan Ziemke in a statement.
“Our food, drinks, energy and community programming evoke their distinct outlaw spirits,” Ziemke said.
Pancho and Jane also have a 30-seat bar that serves cocktails and house-made margaritas and palomas, where bartenders will mix both drinks and the music with its bar top vinyl record player. The restaurant also has a to-go window for pickups.
The taco spot is open Sundays to Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. It stays open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.”
